## Deprecating the old addresses for the new name!

A handful of you started this adventure right alongside me when we did not have a proper name, the address you would have joined with was minecraft.unit15.net. According to my server logs, some of you still use the old addresses! Starting December 10th, the original addresses are going to stop working, so please make sure you switch to the new addresses soon! (play.midnightvalley.net, survival.midnightvalley.net, creative.midnightvalley.net and more to come.)

## We have a hub! Kinda.

Kate_Biron has been working on an new awesome looking hub for us! Right now it is accessible by everyone, however it is not finished. There will be portals to each server once it is completed, but for now you can use the Recovery Compass that is automatically put in your inventory to navigate between the servers. There is also the `/server` command to bounce between servers should you ever need it.

This hub will achieve a couple things; One, it just looks cool, two it makes a cool spot to have everyone convene once in a while and three, the biggest one, this is where you will appear if the server you are on ever crashes!

I am planning on starting the [Creative Server](../../creative.md) tonight, December 1st. Not quite sure what time, but it will be up. That being said, we will be starting without a dedicated spawn area and without WorldEdit. Turns out that WorldEdit is a bit more complicated than I was expecting to configure properly so that everyone can use it safely. Of course I am going to keep working on this, but time has been limited as we FINALLY wrap up moving. As for the creative spawn area, I need a builder! I am a bit terrible at designing things like that, so if you feel like you would like to build the spawn for Creative, hit me up in the `#general-chatting` channel on Discord.

They are everywhere! And that caused a problem for me. I had forgotten that I had set the links on the website to automatically kick people when they disconnect unless they are assigned a role. This means that when someone joins the Discord server, they need to be allowed into the server by an admin or mod before they leave or they will be kicked. This is for the safety of our server so keep the riffraff out and keep the members page from becoming a cluttered mess of inactive accounts.

The workaround for this is to get a link generated from a mod or admin so that it will not auto-kick the person if they are no available to interactively get access with a mod or admin.

I really fought myself on this one... One one hand, the servers to cost money to run, but on another this is a project that I enjoy doing. However, in the spirit of doing this right and making it less of a project and more of a product I have decided to start accepting donations. I don't expect donations to be very clear, and they will not get you any perks or anything on the servers, they will just help me keep the servers running!
